Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • No, I this time I do not accept insurance.

I take pride in providing exceptional care and service to my clients, and believe that this is best achieved with private pay only. I firmly stand by this decision for several reasons:

Personalized Care & Freedom of Treatment Options

By not dealing with insurance companies, I can focus all my attention on delivering the highest standard of care to my clients, while devoting ample time to each individual. Insurance companies often impose limitations on how many sessions they will cover, as well as the types of treatments and services they cover. Without these constraints, I have the freedom to employ a more holistic and flexible approach to mental health care, as well as the time to support clients in deep healing and long-term growth. We can explore innovative therapies and tailor treatment plans to each client's unique needs, fostering a deeper connection and better outcomes.

    Reduced Administrative Overhead

Without the burden of insurance-related paperwork and bureaucracy, I can streamline my administrative processes, allowing me to operate more efficiently. This, in turn, enables me to reinvest my resources into enhancing the quality of services and maintaining a welcoming and comfortable environment for me clients.

    Transparent Pricing

Unlike insurance-based providers, my fee structure is straightforward and transparent. You won't be surprised by hidden costs, copays, or unexpected bills. I believe in providing clear and upfront pricing, ensuring you have a clear understanding of the services you're receiving and their associated costs.

    Enhanced Privacy and Confidentiality

By not involving insurance companies, we maintain strict control over the privacy and confidentiality of your sensitive information. Your personal health data remains within our secure systems, safeguarding your privacy and ensuring your trust in our services.

My Own Wellbeing & Long-term Stability

The burnout rate pre-covid amongst mental health providers was roughly 21-61%, with the pandemic increasing these numbers significantly. While not accepting insurance may raise questions, the mental, emotional, and financial benefits for me as a care provider and business owner are considerable. As a private pay clinician, I am able to build in more time for my own personal processing and self-care, while maintaining a sustainable schedule and workload. Not only does this allow me to show up to my sessions rested and grounded, by the financial stability also ensures I can continue offering services long into the future. Furthermore, the financial stability and security that comes with being a private pay clinician, also ensures I can continue offering support services long into the future.

  • While I can offer general guidelines based on common therapeutic experiences, it's important to keep in mind that every individual's journey is unique, and there's no one-size-fits-all answer. Progress can be influenced by a number of factors such as the nature of the concerns being addressed, frequency of sessions, the individual's openness to the process, and the depth of therapeutic work required.

  • Active participation between therapy sessions is often an integral part of the therapeutic process. While the sessions provide a valuable space for exploration and guidance, the work done outside of the therapist's office serves to reinforce and apply the insights and skills acquired during therapy. It enhances the continuity of the therapeutic process and empowers you to integrate positive changes into your daily life.

However, while engagement between sessions is highly encouraged, the pace and extent of your involvement are ultimately determined by your comfort and readiness.

  • It's entirely normal to encounter challenges in implementing therapeutic recommendations. Your therapist is there to provide support, discuss any difficulties you may be facing, and explore alternative approaches. Open communication about your experiences and any barriers you encounter is an essential part of the therapeutic relationship

  • The frequency of therapy sessions is a collaborative decision made between you and I, taking into consideration various factors such as your goals, the nature of the issues being addressed, and your availability.

That being said, weekly sessions in the intial stages of therapy is highly encouraged. This frequency provides a consistent and supportive structure for addressing concerns and building rapport. As progress is made, session frequency may be adjusted to bi-weekly or monthly meetings

  • Central to my therapeutic approach is a commitment to collaboration and a healing-centered philosophy that prioritizes recognizing and celebrating your strengths over pathologizing challenges. Within our confidential and secure space, I aim to create an environment where your voice is not only heard but valued, and your experiences are validated. Our journey together extends beyond the exploration of challenges; we delve into the richness of your strengths, passions, and aspirations.

Each session is carefully tailored to honor your individuality, acknowledging the unique nature of your path. I am aware that some topics we discuss may be painful and deeply personal, and my goal is to provide unwavering support and gentle guidance for deeper exploration and healing.

In addition to traditional talk therapy, I offer creative and interactive modalities like art, movement, play, and visualization, adapting to your preferred means of expression. Through this holistic and personalized approach, I am dedicated to empowering you on a journey of growth, resilience, and profound well-being.
